Mrs. Florence Bird
Mrs. Florence E. Bird, 77, widow of John M. Bird, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harold Seyfried, 705 Mt. Vernon Ave., after a long illness.
She was born Dec. 18, 1868, in Ann Arbor, a daughter of John and Esther Walker. She was married to Mr. Bird Nov. 25, 1888 and has always resided in Ann Arbor with the exception of a few years spent in Arkansas. Her home was formerly at 410 High St. Mr. Bird died in January, 1945.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Earl Martin of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Ben Strong of Whitmore lake, Mrs. Scott O’Neil of Ypsilanti, Mrs. Frances Wyatt of Detroit, Mrs. Seyfried and Mrs. Leonard Hartung of Ann Arbor; three sons, John W. of Ypsilanti, Judson E. of Benton, Ark., and Edward E. of Detroit; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lester Canfield of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Fred Schaible of Detroit and one brother, William Walker of Ann Arbor.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 3:30 at the Muehlig chapel, Rev. Frederick Cowin officiating. Burial was made in Forest Hill cemetery.
