Reception To Mark Golden Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Jones of Brooks St. will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary at a reception to be held from 8 to 10 o’clock tomorrow night at the Zion Lutheran church parish hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones were married July 29, 1896, at the Joneses’ home on Catherine St. The well-known Otto’s band, of which Mr. Jones was a member, played for their wedding reception.
The Joneses have lived in Ann Arbor all 50 years of their married life. They have two children, Paul Warren Jones of Petoskey and Mrs. Elizabeth Marland of Miller Ave.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Dean Dreyer (Virginia Jones) of Ypsilanti, Harold E. Jones of Lexington Ave., and Mrs. Samuel Tompkins (June Jones) of Easley, S. C., and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones is a member of the Zion Lutheran church and of the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She also belongs to the Third Ward Reading Circle, the West Side Woman’s Club, and the Maccabees Commanders club.
A life-long resident of Ann Arbor, Mr. Jones is employed by the Godfrey Moving and Storage Co. He is a member of the Odd Fellows.
Will Observe 50th Wedding Anniversary
Observing their 50th wedding anniversary tomorrow night at the Zion Lutheran church parish hall will be Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Jones of Brooks St.
