Mrs. Ellen Smith Dies Suddenly
Mrs. Ellen Smith, 80, lifelong resident of Washtenaw county, died unexpectedly at her home, 65 E. Barton Lane, last night.
Widow of the late John P. Smith, Mrs. Smith was born on Jan. 6, 1866 in Webster township, the daughter of John and Mary Devine. She was married to Mr. Smith on Feb. 24, 1885.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Robert Downer and Mrs. Steve Duris of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Howard Peek of Pontiac; three sons, Arthur J. Smith, Joseph L. Smith, and Ambrose I. Smith, all of Ann Arbor; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at St. Patrick's church, Northfield, with burial in St. Thomas cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday evening. Friends may call at the home.
