Roderick Martin Miller

CHELSEA - Roderick Martin Miller, 72 years old, died at his home here yesterday afternoon following a three-week illness.
He was born at Mt. Bethel, Pa., April 26, 1874, a son of Lorenzo and Harriet Krout Miller. He married Mertice Wood at Exeter Oct. 23, 1895.
Following their Michigan marriage the couple returned to Mt. Bethel for a 12-year stay and then lived in Buffalo, N. Y., for nine years before returning to Michigan where they had residences at various places.
Mr. Miller was in the oil and gasoline business for 18 years, being first employed by the Standard Oil Co. and later by the Staebler Oil Co. of Ann Arbor. For six years he operated a gasoline service station on old US-12 at the Manchester Rd. For the four years just prior to his last illness he had been employed by the Economy Baler Co. in Ann Arbor.
Survivors include the wife, a son, Douglas E. Miller, at home, and two brothers, George F. Miller, Bangor, Pa., and Charles T. Miller, Huntington Park, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at the Miller funeral home here at 1:30 Monday afternoon, Rev. Everett R. Major officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery, Marshall. Friends may call at the funeral home.
