Miss Winifred Gibbons, principal of Jones school, will retire at the end of the current school term. She has been a faculty member of the public schools for approximately 30 years.

The board of education last night accepted Miss Gibbons’ resignation with regrets.

Miss Gibbons first joined the local faculty in 1911. She took a one-year leave of absence in 1924 to supervise the teachers’ training school of Arizona State Teachers College at Tempe, Ariz.

On returning here, she was appointed principal of Angell school. She rejoined the Arizona college faculty a year later and was there for another two years. After coming back to Ann Arbor to take graduate work at the University, she rejoined the public schools’ faculty as principal of Jones school in 1929.

Miss Winifred Gibbons, principal at Jones school since 1929, is retiring at the end of this school year.
