Nathaniel Horning Dies At 68 Years
Nathaniel Horning, 68, of 302 E. Liberty St., who for the past six years had been in charge of the city parking lot, on S. Fifth Ave., died suddenly this morning in St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital, after suffering a heart attack at 7:30 this morning at his place of employment.
He was born Sept. 5, 1878, in Pittsfield township, a son, of the late Carl and Barbara Koch Horning. As a young man he attended the Cleary Business College and later was in the real estate business in Ann Arbor for about 20 years. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the brotherhood of the church and the Schwaben Verein. He had lived in Ann Arbor the greater part of his life.
He was married Dec. 8, 1904, to Katherine Raaf of Ann Arbor, who survives him. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lydia Howlett of Ann Arbor and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are to be held at 3:30 Thursday afternoon at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel with Rev. E. C. Stellhorn officiating. Burial will be made in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
