Charles H. Scott, 46, of the firm of Perrine-Scott Flowers, died last night of a heart attack in the gladiolus fields back of the greenhouse at 7521 Whitmore Lake Rd. His body was discovered by his wife shortly after 8 p.m.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. James Scott, he was born May 30, 1901, in Beaverton, Mich.

On Jan. 15, 1938, he was married to the former Eula Beauchamp, of Ann Arbor. He has lived in the city for about 20 years, ten years of this time at 1320 Sheehan Ave. A few months ago the Scotts moved to Whitmore Lake.

Joins Perrine

In April of 1946 Mr. Scott became associated as a partner with Warren R. Perrine in the florist business and was in complete charge of the growing fields of the firm. He specialized in the development of new varieties and in hybridizing gladiolus. Many valuable bulbs which he had developed were lost when the greenhouse of the firm burned to the ground Christmas morning, 1946. The building was later re-built and reopened in May, 1947.

Mr. Scott had previously been employed by Dhu Varren Farms and the Oakland Dairy.

He was a member of the Michigan Gladiolus Society and the New England Gladiolus Society, a national association, and the Kiwanis club of Whitmore Lake.

Besides his wife, survivors include his mother, Mrs. Nora Scott, of Boyne City, Mich., two sisters, Mrs. Leona Van Dorne, also of Boyne City, Mrs. Norman Johnson, of Detroit, and two brothers, Gordon and Elda, both of Detroit.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. F. E. Zendt officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest Cemetery.
