Ypsilanti Man Plans Studebaker Sales Agency Here

Frank H. Link Will Expand Building At Huron And Division

Plans for a $20,000 expansion of the building on the northwest corner of E. Huron and Division Sts. for use as a Studebaker sales and service building were disclosed today.

Frank H. Link of Ypsilanti, a former Studebaker Corp. executive at South Bend will operate the agency, to be called the Link Motors. He has been engaged in retail and wholesale automobile business for approximately 25 years.

Link, who will handle Studebaker sales in all of Washtenaw County, also is establishing an agency at 417 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. He said the agency there will be opened formally in about a month.

To Start In Ten Days

The Huron St. building is to be erected by the D. M. Silkworth Co. of Ypsilanti, which presently has the property under lease from Fred C. Ulrich, jr., of 411 N. Ingalls St.

Construction, to start in about 10 days, is expected to be completed within 30 to 60 days. As much of the present building as can be utilized will be retained for the new structure.

The site is now being used as a terminal by Days Transfer Inc., which will move to a new building near US-23 and Packard Rd.
