Here is the site of the new city parking lot at S. First and Washington Sts. as two old houses, one of more than 100 years vintage, started their cross-town trip to new locations. What appears to be the first and second house is actually one dwelling cut in half. A third house on the parking lot property will be moved in January when the lease held by the present tenants expires. The house in the center and its rear wing, which formerly called 217 S. First St. home, is being moved to a lot on the east side of Pontiac St. just south of Apple St. The light-colored house to the left will go to the northwest corner of Kellogg and Pontiac Sts. The moving was done by G. Krist Construction Co. of Detroit for J. G. Mackmiller of 1008 Pontiac and B. A. Hilbert of 1321 Traver.
