Fred J. Williams

Republican

Fred J. Williams has been the supervisor from the Third Ward since 1936. He has resided in Ann Arbor, and in that ward, for 28 years. He operates a welding business.

Mr. Williams was born on an Ingham county farm. He is a graduate of East Lansing High School.

His civic work has included participation in Red Cross and Boy Scout activities. He is a member of Zal Gas Grotto.

Mr. Williams is presently a member of supervisors’ committees on special building, salaries, the circuit judgeship, the prosecutor’s office, the sheriff's department, and equalization.

He is married and has two sons, both residing here. He lives at 111 N. First St.

His statement on his candidacy:

"In all my time in office I have endeavored to keep taxes low throughout the county and to keep expenses down. I believe in fair salaries but don’t believe in wasting money.”
