Makielski’s Paintings Exhibited In Detroit

Leon A. Makielski, former Instructor in the University’s college of architecture and well-known Ann Arbor and Detroit artist, is represented in an exhibition of paintings in the Scarab Club galleries, Detroit, today through March 27.

Makielski is represented in the six-man show by two large portraits, several small portraits—including a self-portrait and one of Dr. Carl Camp, chairman of the University's department of neurology, and Dr. Camp’s two daughters. Also hung are several landscapes by Makielski.

His portraits of Dr. Camp and one of Dr. Udo J. Wile, professor emeritus of the University, were presented recently to the University by friends, alumni, and colleagues.
