REBURIAL SERVICES FOR PVT. EDMUNDS TO BE IN INDIANA

The body of Charles W. Edmunds, jr., who was killed in 1945 in the Philippine campaign, has been brought back to this country.

Funeral services are to be held at 10:30 tomorrow morning in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Richmond, Ind. Interment of Pvt. Edmunds will be in the Earlham Cemetery at Richmond beside his father, the late Dr. Charles W. Edmunds of the University Medical School.

The war hero was born in Ann Arbor on Feb. 5, 1918, attended Cranbrook School, and was graduated from Swarthmore College and from the Law School of the University. He was engaged in the practice of law in Seattle before going into service.

He was injured by a hand grenade on Feb. 4, 1945, while attempting to rescue the wounded in the battle of Luzon. He died in an Army hospital three weeks later.

Pvt. Edmunds is survived by his mother, Mrs. Charles W. Edmunds of 1619 Cambridge Rd., and his sister, Mrs. Noyes L. Avery of Grand Rapids.
