Mrs. Irma Brownell Marshall, 56, wife of Donald W. Marshall, died this morning at University Hospital after a brief illness. Her home was at 1942 Cambridge Rd.
Mrs. Marshall was born May 9, 1892, in Chicago, Ill. She was the great-granddaughter of Laura S. Haviland, Michigan Quake and abolitionist who founded the River Raisin Institute's First Industrial School for Girls at Adrian, Mich.
Mrs. Marshall was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and of St. Andrew's Guild. She was also a member of the Windermere chapter of the Eastern Star of East Cleveland, O.
Besides her husband, who is part-owner of the United Cigar Store in Ypsilanti, Mrs. Marshall leaves two sons, William D. and Duane Jack, both of Ann Arbor; and three daughters, Mrs. Donald Bruce of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Marvin Price of Grosse Pointe, and Eleanor Lucy Marshall of Detroit.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ora B. Campbell and Mrs. Raymond Greenland, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Chester A. Hard of San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Dr. Henry Lewis officiating. Her remains will be cremated. Friends may call at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home until noon Sunday.
