Funeral services for Sgt. Kenneth M. Fox, who was posthumously awarded the Silver Star and in whose name the Kenneth Fox Post No. 7433 Veterans of Foreign Wars was established, will be held at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Dr. Henry Lewis officiating.
Graveside military services will follow in Fairview Cemetery where interment will be made.
The body was returned to the city at 8:48 this morning under military escort.
Sgt. Fox, the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Fox of 1055 Wall St., was killed in Italy Feb. 5, 1945, while attempting to rescue two men severely wounded by exploding mines. He was a machine gun squad leader with the 365th Infantry regiment of the 92nd Division.
Sgt. Fox was graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Army following graduation and took his training in Fort Huacha, Ariz., before being sent overseas, in September, 1944.
Formal installation of the VFW post named in Sgt. Fox' honor was made May 26, 1946. It became the first all-Negro post in the city.
Besides his parents, Sgt. Fox is survived by one brother, Clayton, jr.; and three sisters, Mrs. James Randal of Prarie View, Tex., Mrs. James Seeney of Jefferson City, Mo., and Mrs. Bernard Porche of Inkster, Mich.
The body will lie in state at St. Andrew's Church from 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon until the time of the service.
