DIES SUDDENLY: Ferdinand B. Schlesinger, owner and operator of the Stanger Furniture Co. at 119 W. Liberty St., died suddenly last night at his home, 70 Waters Rd., in Pittsfield township.

F. B. Schlesinger, 57, Had Been With Stanger Company Many Years
Ferdinand B. Schlesinger, 57, owner and operator of the Stanger Furniture Co. at 119 W. Liberty St., died suddenly last night at his home, 70 Waters Rd. He had been active until a few moments before his death.
Mr. Schlesinger was born Dec. 27, 1891, in Van Wert, Ohio, the son of Rev. F. and Theodora Stanger Schlesinger. After attending college in Fort Wayne, Ind., he came to Ann Arbor to work for his uncle, Nate Stanger, who was operating the furniture store at the Liberty St. address.
In 1913 he was made a full partner with Mr. Stanger and the late William Gauss. Four years later Mr. Schlesinger was married to Miss Anne O. Schlenker of Ann Arbor. The couple took over the interests of the two other partners in 1936.
Active in Kiwanis
Mr. Schlesinger was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church and was active in the Kiwanis Club for which he served at various times as a director and chairman of the annual rummage sale. He was also a member of the Elks lodge.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Frank Bender of Escanaba, one son, Richard at home, one sister, Mrs. Charles H. Hall of Ann Arbor, two brothers, Paul J. of New Orleans and Herbert E. Schlesinger of Ypsilanti, and one granddaughter, Judith Anne Bender.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Muehlig Funeral Chapel with Rev. Theodore Schmale of the Bethlehem Church officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel.
