Handled Juvenile Cases In Last Two Years
The resignation of Policewoman Mrs. Jewel Reynolds, from the Police Department effective April 1 was announced today by Police Chief Casper Enkemann.
In a letter to the chief submitting her resignation, Mrs. Reynolds said she was resigning in order to take "another position for which I feel I am better fitted.”
Mrs. Reynolds said that she hoped to return to her former field . . . working in correctional institutions.
Handled Juvenile Cases
The 44-year-old policewoman handled juvenile cases and worked on investigations of crimes involving women in Ann Arbor.
She has been a member of the Department since Oct. 1, 1946. Before that she worked at various times in the Illinois State Reformatory for Women, for the Federal Bureau of Prisons at Milan Prison, and at the Detroit House of Correction.
Chief Enkemann said that a successor to her, handling the same duties, would be appointed in the near future.
Mrs. Reynolds lives at 1210 Franklin Blvd.
Her resignation was accepted by the Police Commission at a meeting last night.
