J. W. Dresselhouse Of Sharon Dies
Served As Township Supervisor 1904-19

John William Dresselhouse, 86, retired Sharon farmer and township supervisor from 1904 to 1919, died this morning in his home at 5260 Sharon Hollow Rd. after a lingering illness.
Mr. Dresselhouse, born on Nov. 29, 1862, in Freedom township, was a son of Henry and Margaret Dresselhouse. He married the former Eva Haselschwerdt on April 11, 1889, and moved to Sharon township.
A member and a former officer of the Sharon Evangelical and United Brethren Church, Mr. Dresselhouse had served as superintendent of its Sunday school for 25 years. Before becoming township supervisor, he held office as township clerk and treasurer. He was also a justice of the peace.
Surviving are his wife and six daughters, Mrs. Jennie Reahard of N. Revena Blvd., Mrs. Hazel Young and Mrs. Ruby Reithmiller of Jackson, Mrs. Ruth Ray of Belleview, Mrs. Elora Schaible of Dexter, and Miss Mabel Dresselhouse, at home
Also surviving are three sons, Elmer Dresselhouse of Jackson, William Dresselhouse of Sharon Township; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
