YPSILANTI - Mrs. Alma A. Thorne, 83, pioneer resident of Augusta township, died Sunday evening at Beyer Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 11, 1866, at Fremont, Ind., the youngest daughter of Osmond and Eliza Goff. She was married to Thomas Thorne on May 1, 1887, in Augusta township.
Mr. Thorne died Feb. 14, 1943, and a daughter of the couple, Mrs. L. Rose Clark, also died previously.
Surviving are two sons, Carl E. of Belleville and Joseph H. of Willis, with whom Mrs. Thorne had made her home for the past six years; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Azro Goff of Muskegon Heights; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thorne was a member of the Willis Methodist Church and the Women's Relief Corps.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Moore Funeral Home in Ypsilanti, with Rev. Charles J. Carey officiating. Burial will be in Child Cemetery, Augusta township. Friends may call at the funeral home.
