Attic Fire Extinguished After One-Hour Battle
City firemen battled a blaze in a third-floor attic over the Blue Front Cigar Store, 701 Packard St., for an hour yesterday afternoon before extinguishing it.
The fire burned a small hole in the attic roof but firefighters succeeded in confining the blaze to the attic.
The cause, they said, was undetermined.
A beauty shop and an apartment on the second floor of the building suffered some water damage, but the cigar store was undamaged.
