Charles P. Knight
Charles P. Knight, 87, retired farmer, died Sunday evening in his home at 1216 White St. after a brief illness.
Mr. Knight was born on Aug. 16, 1862, in Dewitt, Mich., and moved to Scio township with his parents when he was a child. He was married on Dec. 26, 1988, to the former Clara A. Moore, who died Sept. 24, 1943.
Mr. Knight farmed in Scio township until 1921, when he moved to Ann Arbor. A charter member of the Pittsfield Union Grange he was active in that organization up to the time of his death.
He is survived by two sons, Edward C. Knight of Port Huron and Raymond C. Knight of Ann Arbor; four daughters, Mrs. Harriet Williams of East Ann Arbor and Mrs. Edith Behringer, Mrs. Frank Heusel, and Mrs. Elbert Payne, all of Ann Arbor; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the Muehlig Chapel, Dr. Leonard A. Parr officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
