EDNA STEINWAY, FRANK GUCKER EXCHANGE VOWS

Edna B. Steinway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Steinway of Chelsea, became the bride of Frank Gucker, son of Mrs. Frank Gucker of Tappan Ave. and the late Mr. Gucker, in a ceremony Saturday evening in St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, Chelsea.

The ceremony was read by Rev. P. H. Grabowski. Duane Bauer of Whitmore Lake, cousin of the bride, was the soloist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of candlelight satin. A wide bertha trimmed in Alencon lace edged the boat neckline and the long sleeves, also bordered with lace, ended in points over the wrists. The skirt extended into a sweeping train.

A braided tulle headpiece adorned with orange blossoms held her fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and button chrysanthemums centered with a white orchid.

Wears Satin Gown

Mrs. Veryl F. Steinway of Miller Ave., sister-in-law of the bride, was the honor matron. With her gown of turquoise satin, she wore matching mitts and a matching braided satin headpiece trimmed with rose chrysanthemums. The rose chrysanthemums were repeated in her bouquet.

Veryl F. Steinway was Mr. Gucker’s best man. The ushers were L. Dean Steinway, brother of the bride, and William Jewell of Linda Vista Ave.

A reception followed in the church parlors with Mrs. Clarence Haeussler of Gott ST., aunt of the bride, cutting the wedding cake, and Mrs. Harry Rose of Chelsea pouring.

Assist At Reception

Mrs. Glenn Sharpe and Mrs. Wayne Van Orman of Detroit assisted, while Mrs. Alton Steinway of Dexter, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book.

When the couple left for a week’s honeymoon in the East, the bride was attired in a brick red suit with brown accessories and her bridal orchid.

A graduate of Chelsea High School and Cleary College, the former Miss Steinway is a bookkeeper with Alloy Metal Abrasive Co.

Mr. Gucker was graduated from Walled Lake High School and served in the South Pacific with the Army. He attended the University School of Business Administration and now owns and operates the Dexter Bowling Club.

The newlyweds will make their home on F St., Dexter, after Nov. 1.
