GIRL WED ON GRANDPARENTS’ 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Patricia Ann Hanert, Robert Kuhn Married In South Lyon Church
SOUTH LYON—Patricia Ann Hanert chose the golden wedding anniversary of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Atchison of Salem, for her marriage to Robert Frederick Kuhn of Ypsilanti.
The couple was married at 8 o’clock Saturday evening in the South Lyon Methodist Church. A reception following in the church dining room honored both the bridal couple and the Atchisons.
Two tables were set up for the reception, one for the bride and bridegroom, and another for the bride’s grandparents. A white cake centered the bridal table and a yellow cake the anniversary table.
Wears Velveteen Gown
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hanert of South Lyon. Her husband’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Henry Kuhn of Clark’s Summit, Pa.
For her marriage, the bride chose a gown of white velveteen designed with a portrait neckline and long sleeves. The cap from which her shoulder-length veil fell was cut from her grandmother’s wedding gown. She carried white orchids and chrysanthemums.
Mrs. Richard Brown of Detroit was the honor matron, wearing a deep rust taffeta gown. A taffeta gown in a lighter shade of rust was worn by the bridesmaid, Sally Rhodes of Pontiac.
Both wore plumes in their hair and carried chrysanthemums in shades of yellow.
Gretchen Atchison of South Lyon and Marthann Hanert of Detroit were the flower girls. They wore aqua taffeta gowns and scattered yellow rose petals in the path of the bride.
Charles Lewitt of Detroit was his cousin’s best man. Richard Brown of Detroit and Don Liddicoat of Detroit ushered.
Following the wedding reception, the couple left for a few days at the Palmer House in Chicago. They plan to move into their new home on Huron River Dr., Ann Arbor, on Thursday.
The bride’s traveling costume was a red crepe suit dress trimmed with black velvet. She wore black accessories.
The bride attended Michigan State Normal College. Mr. Kuhn attended the University School of Engineering.
PHOTO CAPTION: When Patricia Ann Hanert of South Lyon and Robert Frederick Kuhn of Ypsilanti cut their wedding cake Saturday evening at a reception in the South Lyon Methodist Church dining room, they had two very interested onlookers, the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Atchison of Salem, who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary that day. After the bride and bridegroom cut their cake, they in turn watched the Atchisons as the couple cut the first piece of the yellow cake which centered their special anniversary table. The wedding and anniversary reception followed the Kuhn-Hanert nuptials in the South Lyon Methodist Church.
