Mrs. Clara Stebbins, Former Operator of Dexter Hotel, Dies
DEXTER - Mrs. Clara Stebbins, 87, died Saturday night at her home, 3278 B St., after a three-day illness. She and her husband, the late Charles W. Stebbins, for many years operated the "Stebbins House" hotel.
Born Oct. 16, 1862, in Ypsilanti, she was a daughter of Charles and Mary Morrman Conrad. She came to Dexter with her parents at the age of 16.
On June 15, 1887, she married Mr. Stebbins in Dexter. He died Nov. 10, 1924.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charles Wahr of Ann Arbor, Mrs. C. M. Stephens of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. James Smart of Detroit; three sons, Homer H. of Lake City, Fla., George H. of Louisville, Ky., and Mark C. of Detroit; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at the Keehn Funeral Home, Rev. I. V. Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
