Ypsilanti Resident Dies
After Long Illness
YPSILANTI - Daniel Peter Kempffer, 83, died early Monday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Raymond R. Garlough, of 510 Holmes Rd., after a long illness.
Mr. Kempffer was born Sept. 24, 1866, in Merrickville, Ont., a son of James and Emma Sabreau Kempffer. He married Florence Warren in 1894 in Pittsfield, Mass. She died in 1908.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Garlough and Mrs. John Zajicek of Detroit; and one grandchild. Two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Kempffer of Merrickville, and Mrs. George Hill of Smith Falls, Ont., also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Thursday morning in St. John's Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening in the Moore Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
