William E. Bacon

Irrigation Authority
CHELSEA - William E. Bacon, a former irrigation engineer, died suddenly Saturday afternoon. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Bacon, who attended Michigan State College at the turn of the century, was employed by the California State Irrigation Service from 1902 until 1910.
Shortly afterward, he returned to Chelsea, where he was born on March 21, 1879. He was a son of William and Lois Congdon Bacon.
Surviving Mr. Bacon are three sisters, Mrs. George Leonard of Saline, and Mrs. Vern Fordyce and Mrs. A. A. Palmer, both of Chelsea.
Funeral services will be held for Mr. Bacon at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Staffan Funeral Home here, conducted by Rev. O. W. Morrow. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
