Hearing Waived On Charge Of Entering U-M Rocket Center

(Special to The News)

INKSTER — A 26-year-old Willow Village truckdriver, accused of breaking into the University of Michigan’s rocket research laboratory on July 21, waived examination in municipal court here yesterday.

The alleged burglar, Stephen B. Fogg, jr., an employe of the Kaiser-Frazer Corp., was bound, over to Wayne County Circuit Court, and was released on $1,000 bond.

A civilian guard at the laboratory said he found Fogg inside a metal hut where he had scattered papers and documents, and tinkered with a fire engine.

Turned over to state police at Ypsilanti, Fogg said he had been drinking and had wandered into the walled-off project.

“I was just curious,” Fogg told troopers.

Research work for test rocket launchings at White Sands, N. M., and Cocoa, Fla., was done at the laboratory.
