Sanity Board Named

For Murder Suspect

A three-man sanity commission was appointed today to examine Stanford L. Thompson, accused of murder in the fatal shooting last Saturday morning of Mrs. Marjorie Williams.

Members of the panel are Drs. Leonard E. Himler of Mercywood Hospital, Ralph M. Patterson of the University's Neuropsychiatric Institute and Walworth L. Stenger of 1027 Ferdon Rd.

Psychiatric examination of any person charged with murder is mandatory under Michigan law. After the commission submits its report. Thompson will be arraigned in circuit court. He has already waived a lower court hearing.

Prosecutor Douglas K. Reading said he expected the arraignment would take place in about a week.
