Robert Fletcher, 18, Was With Armored Division
YPSILANTI — Pvt. Robert W. Fletcher, 18. of 438 Chidester St., is reported missing in action in Korea, the Defense Department has informed his mother, Mrs. Mae Woodson.
Pvt. Fletcher enlisted in the Army infantry last April. He had been in Korea only a short time before Chinese Communists pushed United Nations forces into withdrawals in November.
Pvt. Fletcher received basic training at Ft. Knox. Ky., following his enlistment. He then was assigned to the Third Armored then in training at the same station.
Eighteen-year-old Pvt. Robert W. Fletcher of 438 Cidester St., Ypsilanti has been reported missing in action in Korea since Nov. 28.
