Retired Blacksmith Dies Here At 92
Charles T. Strupp, 92, a retired blacksmith, died this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. A. L. Zill of 1737 Broadway, following a long illness.
Born April 18, 1859, in Evansville, Ind., he was a son of Jacob and Elizabeth Tembel Strupp.
Mr. Strupp married Mary Miller of Evansville in 1889. She died Sept. 19, 1924.
He had been in the blacksmith business in Evansville for 40 years before retiring in 1927 to move to Ann Arbor where he had lived since with his daughter.
Also surviving are another daughter, Mrs. Val Schlumpf of Evansville; a son, Carl of Evansville; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 tonight at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home, with Rev. C. A. Brauer officiating. The body will be taken to Evansville tomorrow for burial in Locust Hill Cemetery there. Friends may call at the funeral home.
