Had Been Ann Arbor Resident Since 1918
Mrs. Jennie E. Couper 77, widow of Edward F. Couper, a former Ann Arbor businessman, died yesterday afternoon at her home, 1260 Ferdon Rd., after a long illness.
Mrs. Couper was born here on Feb. 9, 1874, a daughter of John and Edith Brady McArthur.
She was graduated from Ann Arbor High School and taught in rural schools in Washtenaw and Monroe Counties.
She was married to Mr. Couper on Nov. 3, 1897. The couple lived in Azalea until 1918, when they moved to Ann Arbor. Mr. Couper died on Dec. 25, 1939.
Mrs. Couper was a member of the Grandmothers' Club here.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Karl B. Duerr of Radburn, N. J., and Mrs. Paul G. Greene and Mrs. W. E. Bandemer, both of Ann Arbor; one son, William M. Couper of Ann Arbor; and five grandchildren.
A second son, Edward M. Couper, former Ann Arbor realtor and City Planning Commission chairman, died Oct. 29, 1950.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon at the Muehlig Chapel, with Rev. Frederick Cowan officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the chapel.
