Four University explorers are shown examining rubber impressions of an inscription written on a stone monument which stands in the peaks somewhere on the Iranian-Iraq border that may give a clue to the ancient history of the area. They are (left to right) Ernest McCarus of Charleston, W. Va., graduate student; Prof. N. Marbury Efimenco of the political science department; Dr. George G. Cameron, Near Eastern expert and leader of the expedition; and John Anderson of Manistee, also a graduate student.
