Former Businessman In Milan Succumbs

MILAN—Joseph Moses LaDuke, 45, died suddenly last night at his home, 401 North St. He was a former operator of the Dairy Bar here.

A son of Moses and Louise LaDuke, he was born near Bay City in Bay county, on April 15, 1907.

He moved with his family to a farm near Carrollton in 1917. He was employed at the Custer Restaurant as a night cook for 10 years. Later he was a milk route salesman for the Wickenheiser Dairy Co. He was also employed by the Alcoa Aluminum Co. and the Monroe Auto Equipment Co. in Monroe.

Before operating the Dairy Bar, he was employed at the Ideal Furnace Co. in Milan.

He was married to Mrs. Edwina Callis on May 18, 1949, in Monroe. The couple lived there until moving to Milan in 1951.

Mr. LaDuke was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Monday morning at the church with Rev. Albert Folta officiating. Burial will be in Marble Park Cemetery and friends may call at the Stevens & Bush Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon.
