Dickerson Services
SALINE - Military funeral services are being held this afternoon at the local Federated Church for Tamenund James Dickerson, 27, who was drowned Sunday while ice boating on White Lake, west of Pontiac. During World War II he was a flight officer in the 99th Fighter Squadron of the U. S. Air Corps, having enlisted in 1943 at the age of 17. Rev. Cora M. Pennell and Rev. Douglas R. Couch were to officiate at the services, assisted by the American Legion Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Northville. Burial will be in the Wixom Cemetery. Mr. Dickerson was born July 2, 1925, in Wixom, a son of Jeremiah and Clara Dickerson. The family moved to Salem in 1933. Following his discharge from military service, Mr. Dickerson returned to Northville High School from which he was graduated in 1948. He later attended an aero-mechanics school and became a certified air mechanic. At the time of his death he was employed by the Sentas Skyway Service, stationed at the city airport in Detroit.
