Today is the first full day of spring, 1953, and the Dalmatian at left obviously knows it as he cuts capers for an audience of three other dogs at Burns Park.
Kites soaring high in the sky are traditional symbols of spring, and Peter (left) and Charles Hollis of 1309 Olivia Ave. are right in tune with the new season. The dog is getting into the act none to helpfully by entangling himself in the surplus kite string.
