Kiwanis Sale Opens Thursday

Three-Day Event Scheduled At Armory

The 28th annual Kiwanis Sale will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Ann Arbor Armory, with thousands of items ranging from pins to pianos on sale. Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds of the sale help support youth projects — the Forney Clement Memorial Fund for crippled children, also other hospitalized children and Boy Scout, Girl Scout and 4-H Club activities.

Last year 100,000 items were on sale and more than $9,000 was raised.

Dallas E. Walker is chairman, and James Morgan is co-chairman. Mrs. Clinton E. Castor is women's chairman with Mrs. Ragnar L. Arnesen as co-chairman.

A wide variety of merchandise will be on sale, both new and used. Included will be coats, dresses, shoes, appliances, tires, paint, hardware and antiques.

There will be a home baked goods booth, a 4-H booth with eggs and other farm produce and a lunch room serving all day.

Kiwanians and their wives have been busy since Saturday setting up tables, sorting and marking merchandise for sale. Approximately 230 persons will help in the sale.

Items have been collected during the last month, but contributions can still be made. Pick-up service may be secured by telephoning NO 8-6192 or NO 2-3261.
