Joyous Easter

"In the beauty of the lilies, Christ was born across the sea..." the hymn goes. Traditionally, Easter lilies add beauty to Easter services everywhere. The Rev. C. W. Carpenter, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, is shown choosing lilies for the altar of his church tomorrow. Services are planned at 6 and 11 a.m., 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
St. Thomas choir boys are shown above in the robes they wear as members of the "Little Singers of the Wooden Cross," an international organization of choir boys started in Paris. They will sing at the midnight Easter vigil tonight at St. Thomas Church and also at 10 a.m. high mass tomorrow. Charles H. Clarke (far right) is director.
Christians will join in singing the joyful Easter story tomorrow. Rehearsing for their part in the 7:30 a.m. Easter services at the First Methodist Church tomorrow are members of the junior choir, directed by Mrs. Richard A. Correll. The choir also will be heard over radio station WHRV at 9:15 a.m. tomorrow, singing six Easter selections.
The junior choir of the Chelsea Methodist Church, organized this year by Mrs. S. D. Kinde (back row, far right), is shown dressed in their robes as they will appear at 10 a.m. Easter services tomorrow at the church. There are 42 voices in the choir. Five were absent when picture was made. Nancy Atkinson (back row, far left) is accompanist.
