Kiwanis Elects Welhener

Herbert E. Welhener was elected president of the Ann Arbor Kiwanis Club at the organization's annual election yesterday.

Welhener, general manager of the Peters Sausage Co. here and a Kiwanian for six years, succeeds Mac E. Watterworth. Welhener lives at 1900 S. Huron St., Ypsilanti.

Three other officers and four directors were elected at the meeting.

Emerson F. Powrie was named first vice-president, Charles Gregory second vice-president and Calvin A. Wolf treasurer. James Culp was reappointed secretary.

Named to two-year director terms were Loren W. Campbell, James A. Crippen, Louis H. Hollway and Dallas E. Walker.

Holdover directors were Maynard D. Allyn, Fred H. W. Jaeger and Stephen Filipiak.

New officers and directors will take office Jan. 1. They will be installed at the club's first meeting of the year.
