Former City Resident Succumbs In Hospital
Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Clarissa Benton Leslie, 76, Wednesday in Mt. Carmel Hospital, Detroit.
She and her husband, the late Frank Leslie, lived in Ann Arbor for many years prior to about 1935. He was a telegraph operator and ticket agent at the local New York Central Railroad depot here for many years.
The couple lived on S. State St. here before moving to Detroit about 20 years ago. Mrs. Leslie still maintained membership in Ann Arbor chapter 122 of the Order of Eastern Star.
She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The King's Daughters, Redford Women's Club, Society of New England Women and the Methodist Church.
A son, Benton, and nephews and nieces survive.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Northrop and Sons Funeral Home, 22401 Grand River Ave. Burial will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery.
