HOWELL - Ralph Frederick Pelz, 52, died suddenly about 10 p.m. Wednesday at his home, 6922 Oak Grove Rd., Cohoctah township, Livingston county.

Mr. Pelz, who died of pneumonia, would have been 53 next Wednesday. He had bought a service station and general store north of Fowlerville a week ago. He had operated Marathon stations in this county, at Oak Grove about four years and here about a year. Before that, he lived on Baldwin Ave. in Ann Arbor. He had been a milkman for the Washtenaw Dairy and for about five years had been employed by the Robey Tire Service.

Born Jan. 19, 1902, at Preston, Ont., Mr. Pelz was the son of Frederick Otto and Maude Doyle Pelz. He is survived by his wife, Ann, also a native of Preston; two daughters, Barbara and Judy, at home; a brother, Arthur Pelz of Detroit, and his mother, who lives in Ontario.

Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church here, with the Rev. Gilbert Rahrig in charge. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the MacDonald Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today.
