PINCKNEY - Roger J. Carr, 72, a barber and insurance salesman for many years, died yesterday at his home here. He was a lifelong resident of Pinckney.

Mr. Carr was born Sept. 19, 1882, in Pinckney, a son of Warren A. and Sarah Johnson Carr, and was married in 1908 to Edith Smith who survives him. Other survivors are three sons, Ralph of New York City, Robert of Grand Rapids and Wayne, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Janis Baker of Syracuse, N. Y., and Mrs. Betty Bettes of Walled Lake; and one sister, Mrs. Edith Green of East Lansing. Two brothers died previously. He was a life member of the local Masonic Lodge and served at various times as village and township clerk and treasurer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Pinckney Congregational Church with Rev. John McLucas and Rev. J. W. Winter officiating. Graveside services at the Pinckney Cemetery will be conducted by the local Masonic Lodge.
