Glen C. Lewis
BRIGHTON - Glen C. Lewis, 55-year-old former Brighton Board of Education member, died suddenly Sunday at his home, 1004 W. Main St.
He was born July 10, 1899, at Port Huron, a son of Charles C. and Fannie Knowles Lewis. He came to Brighton at the age of two.
Mr. Lewis started employment with the American Agrigates Corp. in 1921 and was a drag line operator at the time of his death. He served on the Board of Education from 1947 through 1950.
He was married to Sarah Dennis Feb. 23, 1929, at Brighton. She died June 17, 1946. Mr. Lewis was married to Mrs. Fern Stewart on Aug. 29, 1952, at Angola, Ind. She survives.
Mr. Lewis was a past-master of Brighton Lodge No. 247, F&AM, and past patron of Brighton Lodge No. 314, Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Surviving besides his wife are a step-son, Alfred Stewart of Brighton; two brothers, Harold of Brighton and Ray of Flint; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Keehn Funeral Home, the Rev. J. M. McLucas officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Graveside services will be conducted by the Brighton Lodge No. 247, F&AM.
