Succumbs To Illness
WHITMORE LAKE - Mrs. Nettie Rice, 73, of 86 Margaret St., Whitmore Lake, died Monday in Ann Arbor after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 5, 1883, in Hadley, Mich., a daughter of Dan and Amelia Stoliker and married Mark Rice on June 10, 1899. He died in 1947.
She lived in the Hamburg and Whitmore Lake area most of her life and was a charter member of the Whitmore Lake Women's Club.
Survivors include two sons, Walter of Ann Arbor and Harold of Whitmore Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Edith Saxton of Ann Arbor; a sister, Mae Rice of California; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Staffan-Hildinger Funeral Home, Ann Arbor, with the Rev. Asa Compton of the Whitmore Lake Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hamburg Cemetery.
