Three Arraigned In Bank Robbery
Three Ann Arbor men, captured by city police Tuesday shortly after fleeing from Pinckney with $4,337 they took in a band hold-up there at noon, were in custody of federal authorities today after bonds of $25,000 were set for each.
James L. Walling. 26, Robert L. Davidson, 26 and Charles Howard, 24, were arraigned yesterday afternoon in Detroit before Federal Judge Arthur A. Koscinski.
The three each face two charges which could mean up to 35 years imprisonment upon conviction.
They are charged with bank robbery, which carries a maximum term of 10 years, and placing life in jeopardy
The second charge involves threatening the life of Albert C. Fredenburg, assistant cashier and branch manager of the McPherson State Bank of Howell’s branch in Pinckney.
Police said Walling wielded a .22 caliber revolver during the hold-up. Fredenburg quoted him as saying, ‘‘This is a stick-up. Don’t move or you’re dead.”
