FIRST U-M BUILDING: This is a sketch of the first University of Michigan building. It was erected in Detroit in 1817. The sketch was drawn by Wilfred B. Shaw, director-emeritus of alumni relations for the U-M. A plaque, bearing a sketch of the first U-M building, will be unveiled in Detroit's new City-County Building next Monday. A delegation from the U-M, headed by President Harlan Hatcher, will go to Detroit for the ceremony.
