Airport Murder Suspect Quizzed

YPSILANTI— State police and sheriffs department detectives were continuing questioning at; noon today of their “prime” suspect in the Willow Run Airport murder before the 34-year-old Inkster man is turned over to Wayne county authorities for prosecution on a lesser charge

Undergoing interrogation for the seventh day is Eskar Lee Triplet. Detectives say they will turn him over to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department on armed robbery charges while they continue to seek “positive” proof which could lead to a murder count against Triplet.

Triplet has been “positively” identified as one of two men seen following the murder victim from 'the airport terminal minutes before the man was robbed and brutally beaten to death Dec. 23. No “concrete” evidence or proof against him has been reported by the investigating officers.

In Wayne county, Triplet will face charges of armed robbery in connection with the Dec. 22 robbery and slugging of a Detroit physician. The doctor was asleep in his locked car along the Willow Run Expressway when two men broke into the car.

The murder suspect was implicated in the Expressway slugging when he pawned a watch stolen from the doctor. Another man similarly beaten and robbed a week earlier has also identified Triplet as one of his attackers.
