David O. Adams, 79, retired floor sanding contractor of Ann Arbor, died Friday afternoon at the sanatorium at Howell following a long illness.

He had lived at 1001 Bruce St.

Mr. Adams was born on July 28, 1877, in Ireland, a son of Robert and Anna Adams Adams.

He came to Ann Arbor in 1936 from Marshall, and was in the floor sanding business until his retirement in 1952.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Adams married Nina Stevens and she preceded him in death Sept. 19, 1940.

Survivors include a son, Robert C. Adams and two grandsons, Timothy Robert and Steven, all of Ann Arbor; three sisters, Mrs. H. E. Philp and Mrs. Tillie Lamont, both of Ann Arbor, and Mrs. Harry Ginther, formerly of Ann Arbor and now of Bradenton, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel, with the Rev. William P. Lemon officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery at Marshall.
