Superior Township Resident Dies At Home
Edwin J. Haas, 77, a Superior township farmer, died this morning at his home at 6560 Ford Rd. after a long illness.
Mr. Haas was born June 8, 1880, in Freedom township. He was the son of John and Blondina Gartman Haas.
He was married to Emilie H. Graf on April 17, 1907, and they observed their 50th wedding anniversary last April.
The couple lived at the present Ford Rd. residence for the past 50 years.
Mr. Haas, a member of Zion Lutheran Church, is survived by his wife, a daughter, Miss Florence E. of Superior township; a son, John of Superior township; a sister, Mrs. Lydia Neyer of Chelsea; three brothers, Herman J. of Freedom township, William G. of Lodi township and Emanuel F. of Ann Arbor; and three grandsons. Mr. Haas was preceded in death by three sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Muehlig Chapel. The Rev. E. C. Stellhorn will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Friends may call at the family home until 10 a.m. Saturday.
