Radio Station Starts Monday
Radio station WOIA 1290 kilocycles, begins dawn-to-sunset daily commercial broadcasting Monday, Meredith Bixby, president of the Saline Broadcasting Co., announced today.
The new, $65,000 station at 3000 Brassow Rd., Lodi township, will be on the air for the first time from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, when officials will dedicate the station and explain its policies. Area governmental officials will read congratulatory messages from Gov. Williams, Sen. Potter and Rep. George Meader.
The Saline Broadcasting Co. was formed in May, 1955. Its petition to the Federal Communications Commission to conduct commercial broadcasts with 500 watts of power was made final by the FCC on Dec. 20.
