Vermont Minister To Come Here

The Rev. L Burlin Main has accepted the invitation of the First Methodist Church to join its ministerial staff and is expected to begin his ministry here next month.

Now pastor of the First Methodist Church of Bennington, Vt., he has been appointed to the local post by Bishop Marshall R. Reed, subject to confirmation of his transfer from the Troy Conference.

There has been a vacancy on the local church staff since the Rev. Erland J. Wangdahl, former associate pastor, was appointed to the post of treasurer of the Detroit Conference.

A member of the Troy Conference since 1931, the Rev. Mr. Main served four pastorates and was a district superintendent before beginning his ministry in Bennington in 1956. Active in conference posts, he is also president of the Bennington Ministerial Association and a trustee of Green Mountain College.

The Rev. Mr. Main is a native of Indiana. He studied at DePauw University and the Boston University School of Theology.

With his wife and two sons, he will live at the parsonage at 1225 Van Dusen.
