Lifelong Webster Resident Succumbs
DEXTER - Bert Kenny, 92, of 6510 Webster Church Rd., Webster township, died this morning after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Webster township.
He was born in this area on May 9, 1866, the son of John and Adelia Queal Kenny. He married Hattie A. Phelps on Feb. 13, 1890. She died May 2, 1952.
He attended Webster Church School and Ann Arbor High School. He was a member of the Webster Congregational Church, a life member of Washtenaw Lodge No. 65, F&AM, and a member of IOOF Lodge No. 438 of Hamburg. Kenny also was a member of the county Board of Supervisors from Webster township, served on the board of School District No. 2 and was a member of Grange No. 1111.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Baylis, Mrs. Donna Baldus and Miss Bertha Kenny; three sons, Munnis, George and John Kenny; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Webster Congregational Church with the Rev. Asa Compton officiating. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery with graveside services to be conducted by the Mason lodge. Friends may call at the Keehn Funeral Home in Dexter until 11 a.m. Sunday.
